Interestingly, both the Washington Post and the New York Times seems to understand the importance of good hot chocolate. The WP’s Cocoa Better reminds me that it has been quite a while since I have lived in DC full-time, much less explored Alexandria. That said, I have had the Murky’s hot chocolate, and it is really that good.
On the other hand, the NYT’s A Sip of Apres-Whatever addresses chocolates as well as hot chocolate. I heartily recommend Vosges — both for the chocolates and the hot chocolate. Last time I was at Whole Foods I noticed they now carry Vosges bars — do try them out. Tisserie, City Bakery and La Maison du Chocolat are all delicious.
On the beauty front, I love chocolate and coffee scrubs. My latest favorite is Cocoa Pink’s Sugar Scrubby Bar with Coffee. For the holidays, Cocoa Pink had Coffee Scrubby bars in Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Latte, Eggnog and Pumpkin Frappucino. They were all delicious, and I do hope she continues with the Starbucks theme in those.
Note: I wrote this post well before I switched to a gluten-free near-vegan and no-refined sugar diet, so have no idea if the chocolate purveyors mentioned in this post have gluten-free and allergy-friendly options.

I have discovered a new item that you are going to love! (BTW, thanks for giving me an outlet for my girlie side on your blog!)
I am not a big fan of Philosophy products. For the most part, I believe that their packaging is the only thing that is great. However, I may eat my words. Due to extreme pressure from a friend, I bought their microdelivery peel. It is truly FABULOUS!!!
