Happy May Everyone!
I went to the Brooklyn Museum recently to see the Murakami Exhibit. This is the only East Coast showing of it – it started in L.A. and then is heading to Germany and Spain. Like many, I was not familiar with Murakami until he worked with Louis Vuitton on their many joint projects. My husband loves anime — so it seemed like the perfect joint activity speaking to many of our interests. And it was.
The exhibit got me thinking about how artists have cooperated with the beauty industry for a long time as well. One of my favorite examples are the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oils that had several Limited Edition bottles designed by Ai Yamaguchi. This topic is a particular interest of my friend H.’s (and actually she introduced me to the Ai bottles) who often posts comments on the blog.
If you are in New York, do check out the Murakami exhibit! And if you are an LV afficionado, there is an LV store IN the exhibit!
