I have not been following the SATC lead-up events and news as much as others, although I have to say I am thrilled to be seeing Carrie and her friends on the big screen. SATC was a Sunday night treat for me for several years — I firmly believe watching the series and past seasons on DVD provided the escapism I needed to get through law school. (Gilmore Girls on DVD and on TV helped too).
I know much has been said of the product placement of designer clothes and accessories, but I was always interested in the makeup that the SATC women wore. You don’t see them applying makeup often either — though I do remember Charlotte pulling out a Nars lip lacquer once (I think she was in her lawyer’s office discussing her divorce). There were enough scenes of them at Duane Reade over the seasons that you always got the feeling that they mixed both drugstore and high-end cosmetics. I am seeing the movie tonight so I will definitely report back!
