Beauty Monday — Bobbi Brown Copper Quartz Shimmerbrick Review

by Valerie on November 10, 2008 · 3 comments

Beauty Monday is a weekly feature focusing on green beauty, paraben-free skincare, makeup, and the beauty industry and marketing.

The Bobbi Brown Shimmerbricks are a complete weakness of mine. I own every single one — but I love how they give you an airbrushed look. My favorite are probably the Sandstone and the Apricot ones. It is the one makeup item I pretty much automatically buy every time a new one comes out. So of course, I very quickly got my hands on the Copper Quartz one.

Last year, when I reviewed the Pink Quartz one, I mentioned there were rumors it was the last Shimmerbrick. Of course there were rumors that the Sandstone was the last one, though at the time, everyone thought Bobbi had to come up with another.

Copper Quartz is very similar to the Pink Quartz from last year — it’s like a cross between the Pink Quartz and the Sandstone. It would make a great first shimmerbrick if you are neutral to warm-toned. I especially like this one as a combination blush and highlighter, and I have used a blend of the upper three strips as eyeshadow.

I love the shimmerbricks too. I kinda wish she’d come out with a plum one though – like Brownie but more purple. And a coral one too.
Copper sounds so pretty…can’t wait to get mine! đŸ˜‰

Yes to what “the curator” said!

I covet my Brownie shimmerbrick–was that 2 seasons ago now or 3, I cannot recall? I would love to see some with aubergine–some great plum browns and eggplant, too!

You are both so right — a plummy shimmerbrick would be wonderful. I am actually surprised it was not this year’s shimmerbrick, in light of the Bobbi Mauve palette earlier this year, and the general trendiness of purple this fall.
