Unlike last week, today it is most definitely cold enough to warrant a post about butters for dry winter skin. One of my favorites is Carol’s Daughter Body Butter — specifically the Almond Cookie one, but I also really like the Love Butter (pictured here) and the SweetHoneyDip…Chocolate Brown Sugah butter.
So why do I love them so much? First, they are all free of parabens, artificial colors, mineral oils and petroleum. Second, they have a great ingredients like jojoba oil, cocoa butter and shea butter. The Almond Cookie one also has almond oil. And the scents are lovely. The Almond Cookie one smells a bit richer than the edp scent I wrote about last week. The Love Butter is a rich but not overly spicy cinnamon. I don’t get the honey or brown sugar notes that the description mentions, but it really is a nice rich cinnamon that does not turn to pure dusty spice. As for the SweetHoneyDip etc butter — it’s a chocolate-vanilla-honey explosion. It’s one of the few chocolate scents I can wear.
There are many other scents if you don’t like bakery scents — do note that these butters are very greasy so, while great for night, I would not recommend using them during the day and risk staining your clothes.
Stay warm, whereever you are.

I LOVE Carol’s daughter. I discovered it a few years ago at Sephora and always buy it for gifts. Do you have Sabon in DC? It’s an Israeli company that makes luxury bath goods. Next time you are up here you should visit one of the stores…there are a few. My favorite is the one in SoHo and the one on the UWS.
