Beauty Monday is a weekly feature focusing on green beauty, paraben-free skincare and the beauty industry and marketing.
It occured to me last week that the only Physician’s Formula Organic Wear product I have reviewed recently on this blog is their mascara. I did review four other products in the line in April, though, but overall, my other favorite is the Organic Wear Pressed Powder. Since the Organic Wear line came out last year, I tried many products, and their pressed powder remains one of my favorites. I tried it in Fair Translucent, which is a good match for me, and it’s finely milled and comparable to my Laura Mercier Pressed TranslucentPowder in its finishing ability. The Organic Wear Pressed Powder is definitely a winner if you want a good translucent powder at a good price point under $15.Ingredients-wise, it is paraben-free and talc-free.
Most powder products do not have parabens because they have no liquid which could get contaminated (and require a preservative), so when you go paraben-free, that may not be something you need to overhaul. However, many companies still put talc in their powders. Talc is usually an ingredient in a powder, but can clog pores. I love my LM and BB powders (which do have talc) but if you have trouble with clogged pores and wear powder often, it might be worth trying this Physician’s Formula powder.
One final note on the packaging – I like this powder and carry it in my purse for touchups and have not had any problems with the lid snapping off, but I do know some people have had that issue. Picture from Physicians Formula Organic Wear site.
