I was at Macy’s in Pentagon City (Arlington, VA) a few days ago – they have totally redone the cosmetics area and it’s gorgeous. There’s a new Bobbi Brown counter (with the so talented Diron, formerly with Bobbi at Nordstrom, as Lead Makeup Artist) but that’s all for another day.
Today it’s about Beautiful Planet:
Some of the best all-natural brands, including Burt’s Bees, Nvey Eco, Pangea Organics and CARE are represented in this store within a store. According to Beautiful Planet, choosing which brands is based on product, packaging, processing and ethics – and their goal is to provide a compelling assortment of lines with appeal to the entry level natural/organic customer to the long-time organic customer to the customer who seeks both organic and luxury beauty products.
I was very impressed by the selection, and by the fact that as every Macy’s adds a Beautiful Planet, such products will become so much more accessible and mainstream. Only two years ago I was writing about how green beauty was starting to really take off. and switching to all-natural myself, and now it’s so much easier to find a wide array of products, including at Macy’s Beautiful Planet.
