I was glad that the chapter on connections and relationships rolled around when it did – as much as I was finding the Joy Diet interesting, it was starting to feel very me-focused. I particularly liked Martha Beck’s suggestion to be in a state of nothing when viewing people around us – it seems a bit counterintuitive at first, but it really did work for me. This chapter was also a great reminder of how grateful I am for all the connections I make in various parts of my life, both in-person and virtual.
