Today I was thinking about how one of the best things I ever did for myself was taking stock of things every week and/or month or so. Kind of like a check-in with myself. Ironically, I started this habit in law school, where I had a very packed schedule, but the sheer insanity of the schedule meant that I was forced to really check in with myself about what was and was not working. Fortunately I kept this habit overthe years. I find it incredibly important this time of year especially, because the end of the year always includes more – whether it’s more work, more planning for holidays, more time on-the-go. And in December, we are tempted to start thinking of goals and dreams for the following year, which is just another reason it is so important to check in with one-self about the present.

This is a fantastic idea. Is there a particular way you take stock or do you just look over your past month/week and identify what is working and what is not?
I think this is a great idea too and though I do it unconsciously all the time, and am usually aware of what is and is not working- I think, doing it consciously and systematically will help (me) actually update and change what is not working.
I'd love to hear more about your process of checking in too.
