Sometime in 2007 I started getting into macarons – by 2008 I was sampling macarons all over New York and musing that macarons were the next cupcake, an invasion of the macarons really. I think macarons are now past the invasion point. Look at this:

Yup, you totally called it! I'm waiting for them to take over weddings now too – instead of cupcake towers there will be macaron towers!
