Happy Sunday – It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the due date of Adopt a Gluten-Free Blogger, an event created by Sea of Book of Yum and hosted this month by Wendy of Celiacs in the House, approaches. In fact, it feels like just yesterday when the event was announced, and I promptly adopted Cheryl of Gluten-Free Goodness as I had a feeling her Sniffle Stew would go a long way towards making me feel better when I was under the weather. It sure helped make the sniffles and crankies go away. I love the combination of nut butter (I used almond butter), crushed tomatoes, chickpeas and kale – a symphony of some of my favorite things. Another recipe designed to make the crankies go away? Bliss Dip, hands down. Sniffle Stew + Bliss Dip definitely helped me feel better that week.
The Bliss Dip was particularly delicious as for three days I avoided all sugar, even fruit sugars, in hopes of kicking the cold to the curb faster, so Bliss Dip was the first sweet anything I had had in several days. It was just that delicious. And I made Sniffle Stew two more times this past month, as you could see from this lunchbox and this one. The second time I made the recipe exactly as written, and a third time substituting black-eyed peas for the chickpeas.
I also made Cheryl’s African Inspired Almond Collard Stew – it has a similar approach as Sniffle Stew in that it uses almond butter and tomato as the base of the sauce, but is heartier on account of the teff and onions. I also love the pop of the pineapple.
I absolutely loved cooking from Cheryl’s recipes and have many more I want to try.
I think everyone should know about Cheryl’s many gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free, soy-free and corn-free recipes, as there truly is something for everyone. Therefore, I am submitting this review to Gluten-Free Wednesday with Linda, the Gluten-Free Homemaker. Adopting Cheryl was such fun as I finally made three of her recipes that I had been eyeing for months, and all three were delicious.

Thanks so much for your kind words! I love the idea of the stew with black eyed peas, and I made sniffle stew with almonds and white beans this weekend (serious yum!!!) So glad you liked the bliss dip.
You are so right about Adopt a Gluten-Free Blogger coming up so rapidly each month! I can barely get my post done in time. I guess that's why some folks do their adoptions immediately. That would be such a good idea, wouldn't it? 😉
Love these recipes that you made of Cheryl's! I've been hearing about that sniffle stew for some time, but didn't know it contained almond butter. That makes it tops for me, but not so much for Mr. GFE. And Bliss Dip … I'm so there! I still haven't gotten into greens in my stews, but I want to!
