The wonderful Heather of Gluten-Free Cat bestowed upon me the Sunshine Award today, which is particularly kind as I had not yet followed up on her choosing me as one of five bloggers to share 7 Links. 7 Links is a lovely concept - bloggers must choose their posts that best fit the following categories: Most Beautiful Post, Most Popular Post, Most Controversial Post, Most Helpful Post, Post Whose Success Surprised Me, Post That Didn’t Get Attention It Deserved, and Post I Am Most Proud of, but as I was going through my blog, I could not decide between which links to share, and ended up rereading quite a bit of my own archives. So, Heather, I promise to post on the Sunshine Award soon, but first, I am making some decisions on my 7 links.
Most Beautiful Post: I wrote this post soon after my 33rd birthday last year, and I love how it captures how much better I feel and yet how I appreciate it every day, which I (mostly) do, every day.
Most Popular Post: I was a little surprised to find out that in the last year it was this post on Healthy Breakfast Ideas, but which is really an ode to breakfast as much as a set of breakfast ideas.
Most Controversial Post: I am not one to talk controversial topics on City|Life|Eats, but this post on thoughts on life gluten-free does address some of the controversies and problems with gluten-free labeling and practices.
Most Helpful Post: My lunchbox series (which I wrote for over a year from 2010 until almost the end of 2011) is generally very helpful, but I particularly like these tips on increasing raw foods in your diet and packing your lunch fast.
Post Whose Success Surprised Me: While I love my Crunchy Bittersweet Chocolate Bites, I was a little surprised at the success of this post.
Post That Didn’t Get Attention It Deserved: I think it might be this post on kitchen time-saving tips.
Post I Am Most Proud of: There were a couple of contenders, but I am going to choose this one from January 2011 where I talked about meeting a goal without realizing it which was about how I finally achieved a more consistent yoga practice. I read that post more than once as I was building up a habit to work out in the morning.
And now, here are seven bloggers I nominate for the award:
- Faye of Raw Lawyer
- Michelle of Bleeding Espresso
- Aundra of Fit for Life
- Alta of Tasty Eats at Home
- Sarah of the Shu Box
- Jac of Tinned Tomatoes
- Vicky of Gluten-Free SCD and Veggie
That said, this is open to all bloggers, so feel free to pick 7 links on your blog and leave a link on your comments.

Such a great idea- and an awesome instigation in appreciating (and loving) our own work!

Yay! I’m so glad that you did this! I remember loving that breakfast post. And I have no idea how I missed the chocolate bites, but I’m off to check them out! Have a great day, Valerie!
