Somehow it is now fall. I ascribe the speed of the last few weeks to having four trips in just over a month – I actually got back two weeks ago, but there was definitely a bit of a re-entry period. I tweeted and then was fully planning to write a post that day, and here we are. Ten days later. In the meantime, while I was re-acclimating to life, fall arrived. There is pumpkin spice everything in stores, and yet I am still craving summer berries.
This is all to say, I am a little behind on life (not work, just life) – and it did not even occur to me that three trips in a month were that much but… still, first, there were a couple of days of waking up and not remembering what city I was in. This had never happened to me, though my 1L year in law school, I did wake up the first day after first semester finals ended thinking I had to study torts, so I suppose I should not be too surprised.
Since getting back there has been a lot of laundry, work and some fun too. Art journaling, seeing friends, and more variety in my movement routine. After spending a lot of time with various hotel treadmills, I was happy to be back in DC and be able to add more more variety to my routine, though I have to say I was very pleased with being able to maintain a 6x/week movement routine, despite all the travel. That said, it is so nice to be back and go to DanceTranceDC regularly (yes, still an obsession). Speaking of DanceTranceDC, I went to an epic event there last week – the Prevent Cancer Foundation Young Professionals Dance Trance party, in preparation of the 5K in which DTDC is participating this Sunday in DC.
Another September highlight was that I finally made it back to the DC Meet Market, a Community Market with lots of great crafty vendors:
I was definitely in a paper crafts mood that day it seems.
Actually, I am just sort of completely obsessed with craftgasm.
There was great chocolate too – Potomac Chocolate Upala 82% bar (for gluten-free and dairy-free info, see here):
As for food – I do owe you reviews of my San Francisco eats, as well as my San Diego eats – but since getting back it has been a lot simple salads and veggies dishes at home, lots and lots homemade smoothies, and, sweetgreen and sweetpress have to round out the rotation.
Speaking of food – I also made it to DC Vegfest, but ended up not taking any pictures. My friend Miriam wrote a great recap of our afternoon there though. Be sure to check out her post. And finally, as for pumpkin, the craving has not yet kicked in for me, but if you are already at pumpkin, all the time, check out these rustic pumpkin cranberry spice biscotti:

Thanks for the shout-out, Valerie! I’ll be at the market again on October 20, so swing by and say hi.
